Artist Jeppe Hein’s colorful, mirror-finished balloon sculptures are scattered throughout Terminal B, appearing to float toward the ceiling in defiance of gravity. At floor level, three bright red bench sculptures reinvent public seating, curving and twisting to invite travelers to pause, reflect, and connect. These playful benches offer moments of respite and new perspectives on the shared spaces around us. Dispersed like a fairytale breadcrumb trail, the balloons encourage visitors to look skyward and embrace a sense of wonder. Location: Level 4, post-security (throughout pedestrian bridges and Food Hall).

Laura Owens’ vibrant mosaic mural spans two levels of Terminal B’s largest interior wall, thoughtfully engaging every curve and corner. Made of handmade glazed ceramic tiles, the mural features iconic images of New York City that shift with your perspective—from recognizable landmarks and beloved snacks to impressionistic colors and abstract glimpses of the city. It celebrates both historic public artworks and the expansive transit network that connects them all, capturing the energy and imagination of NYC. Location: Departures (Level 3) and Arrivals (Level 2), pre-security.
